ABOUT TEMPLATE LIVE TEST

Helping organizations turn AI into clearer workflows, better decisions, and practical results.

I help nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and mission-driven teams use AI to improve workflows, strengthen decision-making, and build capability that lasts.

My work sits at the intersection of strategy, coaching, and implementation. The goal is not to chase every new tool. It is to help organizations apply AI in ways that support real work, create leverage, and actually get used by teams.

Josh Hirsch speaking at a conference

20+ years of experience

Experience across nonprofit leadership, communications strategy, innovation, and digital transformation.

Builder, not just advisor

I help teams identify opportunities, build practical systems, and move from ideas to execution.

Strategy tied to outcomes

Every engagement is designed to improve workflows, decision-making, and operational effectiveness.

My approach

Practical AI, grounded in real organizational work.

My background spans nonprofit leadership, healthcare innovation, teaching, digital strategy, and operational systems. That mix shapes how I approach AI. I do not see it as a trend to chase. I see it as a toolset that should make organizations more effective, more informed, and better equipped to do their work.

Today, I serve as Director of Business Intelligence & Innovation at NIVA Health, lead The AI Dude consulting practice, and teach AI for fundraising and digital strategy as faculty with the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. That combination keeps my work practical. I am close to real operational challenges, not just theory.

What matters most to me is helping organizations build internal capability. That means creating clarity around where AI can actually help, equipping teams with the skills to use it well, and building workflows or tools that hold up in everyday use.

How I work

Three ways I typically support organizations.

Every engagement is shaped around where your team is now and what will create the most practical value next.

AI Strategy

Identify high-value use cases, connect opportunities to existing workflows, and build a practical roadmap for what to do first.

Coaching & Capability Building

Support leaders and teams through workshops, coaching, and hands-on learning that makes AI more useful and easier to adopt.

Implementation

Build automations, internal tools, dashboards, and AI-supported systems that improve execution and reduce friction.

What makes my approach different

Useful systems, not abstract recommendations.

Builder mindset

I do not stop at recommendations. I help create working solutions teams can actually use.

Strategic thinking

Every tool, automation, or AI workflow should be tied to a measurable organizational outcome.

Human + AI focus

The strongest AI adoption happens when people build confidence and capability alongside the technology.

Cross-platform fluency

ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, and automation tools each have a place. The right answer depends on the work.

Who I work with

Organizations that want practical progress, not more noise.

My work has spanned nonprofit and philanthropy, healthcare, communications, education, and professional services. The common thread is helping organizations improve workflows, knowledge management, team capability, and execution with AI.

I work best with leaders and teams who want to move beyond surface-level experimentation and make AI genuinely useful inside their organization. That may mean better content systems, stronger internal operations, clearer decision support, smarter reporting, or new ways to save time without sacrificing quality.
